Web Hosting Bandwidth -- How Much Bandwidth Is Enough?

Web Hosting Bandwidth -- How Much Bandwidth Is Enough?: "ow much bandwidth will your website use?

With so much variation among web hosting companies, it can sometimes be difficult to know how much bandwidth your website will need. So, how much is a gigabyte of bandwidth anyway? Let's put it in perspective. If an average web page, images and all is 50 kilobytes in size, your website could be viewed 20,000 times! For the average hobby website, that is more than enough. Let's further put that 20,000 in perspective. If each visitor to your website viewed an average of 4 pages per month, it would still represent over 5,000 unique visitors to your website every month. Now if your website has lots of pictures on it though, then one gigabyte of bandwidth will allow for fewer visitors."

What is PCI Express? A Layman's Guide to High Speed PCI-E Technology-Best Computer Online Store Houston Buy Discount Prices Texas-Directron.com

What is PCI Express? A Layman's Guide to High Speed PCI-E Technology-Best Computer Online Store Houston Buy Discount Prices Texas-Directron.com: "Bandwidth

PCI Express in all it's flavors: 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x and 32x all have much greater bandwidth than basic PCI.

***Sandcloud Comment: Less Congestion on the Bus, Ask me how! PCI express!- Yeah!
***Also please note that in PCI Express bandwidth is not shared the same way as in PCI, so there is less congestion on the bus."****

Common Buses and their Max Bandwidth
PCI 132 MB/s
AGP 8X 2,100 MB/s
PCI Express 1x 250 [500]* MB/s
PCI Express 2x 500 [1000]* MB/s
PCI Express 4x 1000 [2000]* MB/s
PCI Express 8x 2000 [4000]* MB/s
PCI Express 16x 4000 [8000]* MB/s
PCI Express 32x 8000 [16000]* MB/s
USB 2.0 (Max Possible) 60 MB/s
IDE (ATA100) 100 MB/s
IDE (ATA133) 133 MB/s
SATA 150 MB/s
SATA II 300 MB/s
Gigabit Ethernet 125 MB/s
IEEE1394B [Firewire 800] ~100 MB/s*

* Note 1 - Since PCI Express is a serial based technology, data can be sent over the bus in two directions at once. Normal PCI is Parallel, and as such all data goes in one direction around the loop. Each 1x lane in PCI Express can transmit in both directions at once. In the table the first number is the bandwidth in one direction and the second number is the combined bandwidth in both directions. Also please note that in PCI Express bandwidth is not shared the same way as in PCI, so there is less congestion on the bus."

I actually decided to write a customer review on this particular motherboard:

ASUS M4N68T-M V2 (M4N68T-M V2)

But Amazon requires a purchase- Clever!

So here it goes:

Read up on its specs, make sure if you need virtualization support for your processor, that the motherboard has it! Make sure your OS is supported, using Linux or Unbuntu, make sure you can download the right bio!

Also, think about if you may be needing high speed data transer via any sort of ports. You wont find a fire wire or an eSata. USB 3.0 forget about it, its not there!

Overall Rating out of 5 posible star I might go up to two and a half because it does have 4 Sata ports, can handle an AMD quad processor, and it does have a PCI express, and I think it's got a PCI 1x slot and two normal PCI ports. If all the good stuff in the Asus motherboard is enough for you, for right now and the next two years, then maybe you can be real happy, with it. Even as I write this, I am thinking maybe three stars because you can get up to 8 Gig memory and over-clocking!

Comment: Why not just say:

Compatible Slots: PCI

Or:

Compatible Slots: (1) PCI

By using the 1 x PCI - [ If they are not talking about a plain old PCI slot then why say " 1 x PCI " ??????
